Coronavirus: Rams cancel practice amid positive COVID-19 tests before 49ers’ game

More COVID-19 issues are impacting the 49ers’ scheduled game Sunday at the Los Angeles Rams.
The Rams (7-3) canceled today’s practice after two members of their organization tested positive Thursday night for COVID-19, the club announced.
The 49ers (4-6) are in the throes of their most COVID-19 cases. Seven players remain on the NFL’s COVID-19 reserve list, and three other players were held out of Thanksgiving practice after reporting illnesses that prompted COVID-19 concerns even though none had tested positive at that time.

The #Rams just said they’ve canceled practice today after – this is their phrasing – two members of the organization had COVID-19 test results last night that require further testing today. A spokesman said he couldn’t say if that means players, coaches or other employees.

Kickoff is still set for 1:05 p.m. Sunday at SoFi Stadium.
The 49ers are holding a walk-through practice today at 12:20 p.m. before projecting players’ official status for Sunday’s game. The team is scheduled to fly to Los Angeles on Saturday.
The NFL already has moved one game this week because of COVID-19, with the Baltimore Ravens’ outbreak pushing their game at Pittsburgh from Thursday night to Sunday, if not longer.
Three weeks ago, the 49ers had four players on COVID-19 reserve when it lost to the Green Bay Packers, and all four players came of that list the next day after multiple negative tests.
Currently, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, left tackle Trent Williams, linebacker Joe Walker, tight end Daniel Helm and defensive linemen D.J. Jones, Javon Kinlaw and Jordan Willis are on COVID-19 reserve; Arik Armstead and Hroniss Grasu came off that list Wednesday.
Kept out of practice Thursday because of illness were tight end Jordan Reed and linebackers Azeez Al-Shaair and Dre Greenlaw.
