My AP ballot: Gonzaga and Baylor on top as Texas climbs, Oregon returns

Highlights from the ballot …
*** No changes at the top with Gonzaga and Baylor, but there’s a new No. 3:
Texas jumped three spots following a victory over Kansas.
And not just any victory, mind you, but a 25-point victory at Kansas, which tied the record for margin-of-victory by an opponent in Allen Fieldhouse.
The Longhorns own one loss, by four points to Villanova, and have beaten Indiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma State and KU.
Shaka Smart appears to have his best team in Austin, in his sixth season.
*** Significant carnage last week with 13 of the 25 teams losing.
As a result, three teams were removed (San Diego State, Xavier and BYU), either because of their own losses or the elevation of unranked teams.
Speaking of elevation …
*** Michigan returned to the ballot following wins over Northwestern and Maryland.
There are eight Big Ten teams on my ballot this week.
Joining the Hawkeyes: No. 7 Wisconsin, No. 9 Minnesota, No. 14 Michigan State, No. 15 Illinois, No. 17 Michigan, No. 19 Rutgers and No. 21 Northwestern.
(For comparison: There are seven teams in the AP poll released this morning, as Northwestern did not make the cut.)
*** Also re-appearing on the ballot:
Oregon, which dropped off following the season-opening loss to Missouri but has won eight in a row.
The Ducks are the only Pac-12 team on my ballot … or in the AP poll.
To the ballot:
1. Gonzaga
2. Baylor
3. Texas
4. Iowa
5. Villanova
6. Kansas
7. Wisconsin
8. Creighton
9. Minnesota
10. Duke

18. Texas Tech
