A 17-year-old boy died Sunday after he was shot during an early-morning confrontation, authorities said.
According to police, at 2:25 a.m. officers in the area of the 3200 block of Aldrich Avenue North heard multiple gunshots and then found a 17-year-old who had been shot.
He was taken to North Memorial Medical Center by ambulance.
He later died of his injuries, according to police spokesman John Elder.
An initial investigation shows the boy was in a confrontation that escalated into a shooting. Suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, Elder said.
The victim’s identity will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
