Will either Eric Kendricks or Kyle Rudolph play for Vikings this weekend?

Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks and tight Kyle Rudolph missed Thursday’s practice, leaving their status for this Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears in question.
Both players missed last Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Kendricks nursing a calf injury and Rudolph battling through a foot injury. Neither has practiced this week, and while there’s still a chance they can play, it doesn’t seem likely considering their absences.
Some good news for the Vikings is that running back Alexander Mattison returned to practice for the first time in nearly two weeks. He underwent an emergency appendectomy before a Dec. 6 contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In addition to Mattison, fullback C.J. Ham returned to practice, as did defensive tackle Armon Watts. Both players missed Wednesday’s practice.
SMITH HONORED
After undergoing heart surgery this summer, linebacker Cam Smith has been named the team’s 2020 Ed Block Courage Award recipient. He initially learned of a congenital defect after testing positive for COVID-19 and had open-heart surgery shortly after that.
“I wouldn’t have ever known about this, or as soon as I do now, without getting tested for COVID-19,” Smith said this summer. “It’s a blessing in disguise, and there’s a lot of good that came from that.”
Since 1984, the Ed Block Courage Award annually honors one player from each NFL team who exemplifies commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and courage. The award is named named in honor of Ed Block, the longtime head athletic trainer of the Baltimore Colts.
Recipients are selected by their teammates to recognize both on and off the field extra efforts and their ability to overcome great personal or professional adversity.
