Coronavirus Wednesday update: 92 more Minnesota deaths and 2,279 more infections

Minnesota recorded 92 more COVID-19 fatalities Wednesday and 2,279 more coronavirus cases were diagnosed, according to the state Department of Health.
Those who died ranged in age from their late 40s to more than 100-years-old. Fifty-four lived in long-term care, 37 in private homes and one in a correctional facility.
Both case numbers and test results have been on the decline for the past several days. Fewer than 20,000 test results were reported Wednesday — the smallest number in more than a month, with the exception of Thanksgiving when none were recorded.
Minnesota has now screened nearly 5 million samples from almost 2.8 million people. The cumulative test positivity rate is roughly 7.8 percent.
Minnesota has diagnosed 386,412 coronavirus cases since March and 4,575 people have died of COVID-19.
Residents in their 20s continue to be the age group with the most cases, accounting for nearly 75,000 infections.
Since the outbreak began, 356,384 have recovered enough they no longer need to be isolated.
