Minnesota recorded 18 more COVID-19 deaths Monday and 3,026 new infections were reported by the state Department of Health.
Those whose deaths were reported ranged in age from their late 60s to their late 90s. Eleven lived in long-term care and seven in private homes.
The 3,026 new cases were the result of 45,370 test results and bring the state total to 381,841 infections since the start of the outbreak. The daily positivity rate of 6.7 percent is one of the lowest in recent weeks.
Minnesota has screened 4.9 million samples from 2.77 million people since March for a cumulative positivity rate of 7.7 percent.
The number of people needing hospital care continues to slowly decline from its November peak. There are 1,283 patients hospitalized, including 319 in critical condition.
However, hospital capacity continues to be a concern. In the metro, just 4.7 percent of regular hospital beds and 8 percent of critical care beds were available, according to state data.
Monday morning, the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from drugmaker Pfizer arrived in the state. Minnesota hopes to receive about 183,400 doses in its first shipment.
